# Accessibility statement

DEBT IL wants every person, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this site easily and independently. The site was made accessible under Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.

## Accessibility level

The site is built to meet Israeli Standard 5568 part 1, which is based on the WCAG guidelines, at level AA, and WCAG 2.1 at level AA. Accessibility is built into the site's own code, not added through a plugin or an accessibility toolbar. The site was checked with automated testing tools and by hand for keyboard navigation, colour contrast and narrow screens.

## Adjustments made

- A semantic structure of headings, regions, lists and links for easy navigation with screen readers.
- Full keyboard navigation of every part of the site, including the menu, the questions and the form, with a "Skip to content" link and a clear focus indicator.
- The page language and direction are set: Hebrew right to left, and English left to right in the English version.
- Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 between text and background, and no text shown as an image.
- Layouts that adapt to every screen size and to browser text zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
- A form with a label for every field, optional fields marked, and error and success messages announced to screen readers.
- Alternative text for every image that carries information.
- Support for the operating system's "reduce motion" setting: smooth scrolling and scroll animations stop, and nothing on the site moves by itself for long.

## Browsers and assistive technology

The site is meant for current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers and phones, and works with screen readers.

## Parts that are not accessible

As of the date of this statement we know of no part of the site that is not accessible.
